CETECH is a leading company which deals with the real and wholesale of construction, safety, hand and power tools and equipments. Strategically situated at School Junction, Ashaley Botwe, Accra, CETECH serves as a trusted one-stop shop for homeowners, contractors, and businesses alike.
CETECH has been operating for over 20 years, primarily through local offline sales. Seeking to expand their market reach without immediately opening new branches, they began building their online presence and e-commerce platform, which has gone through multiple improvements. CETECH wanted a landing page that would leave a strong impression on viewers, making them feel as though they were in the store, experiencing its vibrant and professional atmosphere, while also serving as a hub to redirect clients to their various features.
Challenges I Faced
Tight Deadline: The project had to be completed within 2 days to meet CETECH’s marketing timelines. This left little room for extensive ideation or planning.
Limited Budget: CETECH had a strict budget, requiring me to focus on simplicity while still delivering a high-quality design.
Pressure: The combination of a short timeframe and limited resources meant I had to work under intense pressure to meet expectations.

Design Process
To ensure I fully understood CETECH’s goals, I started by researching the company. This was made easier since I had known CETECH for some time. After getting familiar with their vision, I brainstormed ideas, incorporating their initial thoughts on the landing page while adjusting them where needed.
Once the first draft was ready, I tested its effectiveness both from a brand perspective and its development feasibility on WordPress. The next step was gathering resources, including images and videos that would immerse online viewers as though they were there in person.
I captured their building, neatly stocked shelves, and the vibrant, enthusiastic employees to reflect CETECH’s dynamic and joyful spirit. With the resources gathered, I carefully arranged them throughout the page to ensure viewers received the right message at each scroll, helping CETECH’s identity shine through every section of the site.

COLLABORATION
For this project, I worked directly at CETECH Ghana’s location to facilitate real-time communication and decision-making. I often sat alongside team members, receiving instant feedback on my work.
Although the setting put me under pressure, I learned how to manage it effectively.
I explored multiple designs for the first fold of the website since it sets the tone for the rest of the site. After several discussions and tests, we arrived at a final look that perfectly fit the company’s vision.
One of the key sections is Services, where I wanted to present CETECH’s broad offerings without overwhelming the user. I used a creative, scattered arrangement, giving the impression of abundance and variety, yet keeping it visually balanced. This subtle design choice enhances the sense of proliferation without clutter, offering a clean and engaging experience.
Another gallery and a list of CETECH’s features appear further down, with careful spacing to avoid overloading viewers while maintaining the importance of each element. The overall structure keeps engagement high while ensuring clarity throughout the user journey.

Reflection
I’m extremely pleased with the outcome of this project. Even weeks after its completion, I still revisit the website to admire the work.
This project pushed me to improve my ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively with collaborators, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
It also gave me the chance to experiment with and implement design styles that are not commonly used. This was a valuable learning experience, helping me grow both creatively and professionally.
